# 1 Overrated would be TAOS and SANTA FE, NM. What people see in NM escapes me completely.
# 2 Overrated would be the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. The way people talk about it you would think it was a palace. What an ordinary, crowded presumptious hotel. #3 Overrated would be ... fill in the blank! |
oh and i just finished reading all the posts, here. todd, what you and i share is the ability to look at something and decide for yourself that you do or don't like it. most people like things because they THINK they're SUPPOSED TO. Most places i go, i'm underwhelmed. Sedona is just okay, Nina. Todd's point is that it's overrated. I agree wholeheartedly.

KAL Will anxiously await the results of your study. LOL |
Changing the subject! The most over rated place that I have been to without a 9 hr car drive or red rocks was TORTOLA, British Virgin Islands. All the great things I read about it must have been from OFF the shore!! Loved the other islands and sailing BY this one!
|
Jster,
What didn't you like about Tortola? Just curious . . . haven't been in years, and wondering how it's changed. Thanks! |
To flopmeister: flop (and may I call you flop?), are you sure you're not Todd's brother seperated at birth? |
To answer the question, most over rated = Scottsdale, the shopping & golf mecca of the southwest. To each his own. If you aren't the outdoor type why go to Sedona to begin with ? What were you expecting ? I'd also be interested to know what you did in Scottsdale besides go to a ballgame (which I think you can do in most major cities in the US).

Las Vegas!

LA -
Even though it doesn't get rated that highly, it is still overrated. |
Sorry flop, but YOU think Sedona was just OK, I obviously thought a bit more of it. I'm well aware that people have different tastes, but don't even try to tell me that I only liked it because I was supposed to. I'm not that pliable.
Now to answer Tod's question. Some places I consider to be overrated are Cozumel, Nassau, Antigua, St. Martin, Honolulu (not the rest of the islands though!), San Diego and Hilton Head. I've been pretty satisfied with most of the other places I've visited. |
Jack, and may I call you Jack?
Ouch. Todd, we may have been separated at birth, as JackMeHoff suggests. If that's the case, Todd, you must be one good looking motherf@#$! |
And there you have it, folks....in one itsy bitsy nutshell! Class act.
|
OK, I'll bite on this probable troll.
C'mon, toddruggy, if Sedona and Hawaii are overrated and 'not worth', please give us your top 5 US attractions. |
I do not understand why people have to be so mean to people who have different opinions. What I think is great someone else may think is overrated...and vice versa. Please, lets be civil and stop the badmouthing.
|
I think the Florida Keys are way overrated. I've not been to Tortola, but I love Virgin Gorda. We're planning our 4th trip back for next spring.
|
I was kidding about the whole hawaii thing. Never been there. Just using sarcasm like some other people are. See someone on here says COZUMEL is overrated. To me personally I love COZUMEL. See everyone has their own opinions. I hate this whole "TROLL" thing. I don't even get that.

By the way MMS, good point on your last post.
|
Hi, E. Just going through the thread now and noticed yours of 1:35 pm. I'm Canadian--care to elaborate?

Most overrated place to go?
A New York Mets game this season!! |
Absolutely, without hesistation I have to answer the Florida Keys. Oh how I looked forward to my trip! But then oh how I was happy to leave all those strip mall, dolphin mailboxes, and early bird specials behind me!
I also feel that Honolulu is over rated. Here's a twist- I just got back from Cleveland and feel now that it is UNDERRATED! ha! |
