We'll be at home as usual. As much as I love to travel, it does not appeal in December. I love all the stuff that surrounds Christmas and want to be close to home. Maybe when the kids are grown, a Colorado white Christmas might be the ticket. And John's Montana version sounds nice, too!

But for now, in Decmeber, the only traveling I do is a day trip to Manhattan with my older son. (My younger son's turn is next year).

We'll be home in the West Indies. We plan to be cooking all day long in order to enjoy dinner with our friends, under the stars, that night.

stellaluna, it can be nice to be in the tropics for the holidays, as we've done for many years now. However, we do tend to miss the cold during the holiday season, as well. Guess the "grass is always greener," huh?

No telling with our weather. It is supposed to be 80 here tomorrow.

I'll be in Chicago proper with about 30 relatives at my mom and dads. They host, I cook and do most everything else. My own Christmas we do the Saturday before- presents etc. with my children and grandchildren at a nice dinner at my house.

This year I will be in Michigan (maybe ice skating) for about 4 days after Christmas, as I have that week off and then will come home to take my oldest granddaughter on her first semi-grown up trip downtown with just the two of us. And then I get to host a friend's party on NY's Eve- about 7 or 8 couples that have been a close group from our original card/ block club for more than 25 years. Libations will be many and some will probably stay. I don't even have time to think about weather. It's all good.

Forgot to add, mikemo, that I am jealous about Sicily- I'm trying to get a trip together for the Spring 2006. I've been to Napoli several times and I want to return to my mom's home town in Sicily this time. Watch out for those autos- they don't stop for pedestrians in Napoli.

Believe it or not, my mother has land left to her in Sicily, near Palermo. She has never followed up and probably never will. Buono Natale!

We will be spending our first Christmas in our new home Hopefully we will get out on Christmas day for some snowshoeing though. We usually go to the mountains for the holiday, but dh and the kids outvoted me this year and insisted on being home.

At home in MA with family and friends. I could NEVER spend Christmas in a warm place. It wouldn't feel like Christmas. I am definitely a winter person, even in my senior years. Happy Holidays to all.

here but busy putting final touches on an extended visit to the UK and ship home. Should be fun, and it takes away the pain of not going someplace for the holidays. Hope all will have a happy time and enjoy a peaceful time.

At home, with all children and grandchildren here!

We'll go to family Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m., then come home for our traditional gathering. This year there should be 30 to 40 friends, along with their children and grandchildren.

Our house is at its best at Christmas, and we enjoy "decking the halls" with smilax, holly, and pine from our own woods.

Home, home. To shake things up a bit we may play tourist and stay overnight at the Bellagio or Venetian. Last year we stayed at the Mandalay Bay and had a great time.

We always travel out-of-town to a relative's home, but this year, for the first time in my adult life, I will be staying home. YEAH!! It will be so great to have a quiet day at home without the crazy family drama. However, for New Year's Day I will go to my Mom's house in NE Texas and we will drive to Shreveport, LA to visit the casinos. If I hit a mega-millions jackpot, I will fly all my Fodorite pals with me to Paris!!
