It was a great show. Loved it.
I understand why the winner should not be discussed for the sake of the people in western states. I wish people would get as upset about presidential elections in the past which have already been decided before people in Pacfic time have even gone to the polls to vote.

I'm probably going to incur the wrath of the board, but I kinda was hoping that Colin and Christie would win. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that Chip and Kim won (go So CA!!), but as far as being competitive and smart throughout the entire game, Colin and Christie deserved it. Plus, I think everyone only remembers the bad stuff about them (which I think the network edits the show in a way to show people in certain light), but no one seems to remember that they chose not to use the yield against any team (not to save it for later, but because they didn't want to win that way). I think they had their good points and their bad points, but their bad points were very outrageous and very entertaining so they were highlighted. Case in point, I thought Colin was an extremely gracious loser.
Okay now, be nice. Just my opinion.

jlaughs, I absolutely agree. Colin and Christie were the best players by far and just had really bad luck with the last plane trip. Colin said on CBS this morning that the editing made him look like a terrible person and made Christie look submissive, both of which are just not the way they are. So, if editing can make one couple look bad, it can also make others look better. I think Chip and Kim wouldn't have made it to the end without a considerable amount of help earlier on from Colin and Christie.

I think Chip and Kim WERE competitive and smart, but also just plain nice and always positive. I still remember their utter awe at some of the locations they visited, like Egypt. I mean, even though they raced through the countries, they always took the time to be kind to the village people and to appreciate what each country had to offer. You can't say that about C&C. In fact, you can't say that about many of the other couples that have traipsed from country to country. I think that's what I REALLY liked about Chip & Kim, and give them my So. Calif. best wishes!

Surfergirl, actually I think we can only say, with certainty, that we were never SHOWN any other team being kind to villagers or being in awe of where they were. That doesn't mean they weren't. Like I said before, editing can be like statistics. You can manipulate it to show whatever you want.

True. Editing can make things appear the way the editors wish them to appear (now, what can they do about the aging process, lol!). But I don't think they could edit the look I saw in Colin's eyes periodically and even if they showed all of his temper tantrums, one of them was enough to give me a hint of what their marriage is going to be like.

Actually Mirna and Charla had made some comments about how awesome some of the places were...especially Egypt. As far as Colin and Christie....all I can do is pray the don't breed...I just have a vision of him at his childs baseball game.....actually, cancel, cancel..I don't even want to "go there".

I'm not naive about how "real" reality shows are, but I did want to suggest that there's a built-in bias toward younger teams in the last few tasks -- no way the Bowling Moms could have prevailed -- even though there were plenty of times when shrewdness and dumb luck were pivotal. I'm okay with the serendipity of one couple learning about a flight delay when the others didn't -- that's EXACTLY how life and traveling are. I just suggest that the ways in which the producers may have manipulated the outcome went beyond editing.
Moreover, I agree with those who've said that even one of Colin's assaults on Christie revealed a huge imbalance in that relationship -- that there were so many outweighs anything between them that we may not have been shown. Hope Christie watched the episodes herself with clear eyes -- and, if she's still self-destructive enough to think he's a good partner, hope to heaven they get counseling (a little anger management would go a long way).
