Williamsburg Woodlands vs Governor's Inn

I am going to Chincoteague for a week at the end of July with my husband and 2 kids (11 and 13). We plan to go to Williamsburg for 3 nights after that and we are trying to decide between Williamsburg Woodlands and the Governor's Inn. The Williamsburg Woodlands is about $60 more per night so we are wondering if it is worth it. We would like to be able to walk to the historic areas and would also like to visit Bush Gardens one day during our stay. Thanks for any input.

Either would be fine and both are popular with families. I'd probably book the Woodlands if it's not a $ deal breaker. You can walk to the historic area from both hotels. The Woodlands is slightly closer and is on the same side of town (which is fairly small, mind you) as Busch Gardens. Woodlands has a restaurant on site.

Thanks Elainee. I'm thinking that since the hotel is close to everything we will be able to take a couple of pool breaks each day or maybe my husband and I can take turns taking the kids back to the pool.

You might also look at renting a colonial home. Although there won't be a pool right nearby, the homes a all IN the historic district, and all you have to do is walk out your front door!
