Woodstock NY and Stowe VT

We are driving from Delaware to Woodstock NY staying two days and then driving to Stowe VT for several days in late August. I am wondering whether the fly fishing would be better around Woodstock or Stowe at that time of year. I'll be tied up in meetings much of our time in Stowe but the hubs will have time on his hands. Any thoughts for what w/he should see and do and where the fishing would be better?

Not the best time of year, but the Esopus Creek is near Woodstock. It's a tailwater and can stay cool enough for trout. If he wants smallmouth bass there are more options. Can't speak for Stowe.
