Would you go to Atlanta in early Aug?

Honestly, I've always felt that the elevation in Atlanta makes it seem so much cooler than the rest of the Deep South. Now there's still the humidity, but the actual heat isn't that bad.
I'd definitely plan to do some water activities to keep cool and also spend some time in the aquarium. The CNN Center and Centennial Olympic Park are worth seeing as well.
I always like to catch a Braves game when I'm visiting in the summer (if they are in town). If you catch a night game you won't have to worry about the heat as much and some nights are spectacular.
In summary, I think you'll probably enjoy visiting Atlanta, even in early August.
