Susan Moynihan

Susan Moynihan grew up traveling the world as the daughter of a Navy officer before her parents settled in Annapolis, Maryland, during her teenage years. After graduating from the University of Maryland, she set her sights on New York City, equally entranced by magazines and rock and roll. A chance trip to the Caribbean led her to discovery of travel writing, and she spent the next 20 years as a travel editor and editor in chief, working with national publishing companies including Conde Nast and Bonnier Corp. She has visited 60 countries and counting, with bylines in numerous publications including USA Today, Architectural Digest, Fodor’s, Destination I Do, Sherman’s Travels and Cruise Critic. With her company, The Honeymoonist, she has been quoted as a travel expert in Real Simple, Reader’s Digest, The Washington Post, Virtuoso, The Knot and more. She relocated back to Annapolis in 2018, and published her first book 100 Things to Do in Annapolis/Eastern Shore Before You Die (Reedy Press). She is an active member of Society of American Travel Writers and serves on the board of the Historical Novel Society North America.
