Fodor's Expert Review Freycinet Lodge
Coles Bay Rd., Coles Bay, Tasmania, 7215, Australia Fodor's Choice
With cabin-style accommodations scattered through the densely wooded forest overlooking Great Oyster Bay, this cushy eco-lodge has a remote setting that allows for an intimate connection with the surrounding scenic environment. The cabins range from relatively simple one-bedroom units to Premier Wineglass cabins, which have double hot tubs and and fluffy bathrobes. All have private balconies and are outfitted with Tasmanian wood furnishings. The on-site Bay Restaurant has breathtaking sunset views, as well as an extensive wine list. The more casual Richardson's Bistro is the place for light lunches and coffee, while Hazards Bar and Lounge is a relaxing place to swap stories or curl up with a book by the open fire.
