Fodor's Expert Review Onyx
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
Onyx distinguishes itself by being one of only five Budapest restaurants to earn a Michelin star, now it is boasting two. Its prix-fixe lunch and dinner options are some of the most expensive in town (you must book in advance and receive credit-card clearance before your reservation is confirmed) It's a decadent experience with exotic dishes like wild sea bass and rare local game filling the menu. Try the six-course Hungarian Evolution tasting menu, which is loaded with modern takes on Hungarian specialties like gulyas (goulash soup) and goose liver. Dinner will get inevitably pricey, but dining at Onyx is about the quality of the experience. It's a modern, chic atmosphere and you'll fit right in if you dress trendy.
