Château de Gilly
Considered by some to be an obligatory stop on their tour of Burgundy's vineyards, this château retains glorious vestiges of bygone days: painted ceilings, a gigantic vaulted crypt-cellar (now the dining room), suits of armor, and (some) guest rooms with magnificent beamed ceilings and lovely views. The restaurant's menu includes classic dishes such as fillet of Charolais beef with a creamy mushroom sauce, and comforting old-fashioned desserts such as crêpes Suzette and Grand Marnier soufflé.
